will be so good as to return the same
without delay, that the Editor may
determine upon the propriety of forth
with ordering new type. If the coun

nothing, tendered only a feeble sup
port, we fear we shall be compelled
to forego the execution of our project
of enlarging and improving the Old
Dominion, and must content our
selves by continuing as we are, for a
few months. longer. It is useless to
labor against impossibilities; and if
the Jacksonians of the South-Side
will not support the only original

reluctantly give up the Old Domin

future destiny what it may, we shall

Noses of the New Yorkers.
A Mr. Neilson has lately pub-
nsiicti, hi fccotland, a book of
travels in this country! The
following, is his opinion of the
nasal protuberances of the peo
ple of the goodly city of New-York;
"I have heard it remarked by
foreigners that the New York
ers in general, both male and
female, do possess a length of
nose which cannot fail to at
tract the attention v of the most
superficial on-looker. So far
as my own experience goes, I
am wonderfully mistaken if the
first twenty noses a stranger
encounters in Broadway do not
measure with any ticcnty-ficc
average noses in Glasgow or
Edinburg. In spite of this pe
culiarity, the inhabitants of
New-York may be termed rath
er good-looking."
