Female Jlcadcmy.
THE entire control of this Institution
for the ensuing year has been com
mitted by its Trustees to my superinten
dence. It is my tlesir to place it upon an
equal footing with Ihe Female Academies
of Tarborough and Louisburjr. To do this
1 have engaged Miss Mary Pazsdale to
take charge of the school. Mjsr Ragsdale
h is had the charge ol this school the last
session of Ihe present year, and by her un
wearied attention, together with ihn rapid
advance of her pupils in iheir various stu
dies have given entire satisfaction to her
employers. I deem it unnecessary to say
more about her qualification, for she is so
well known amon hii extensive acquaint
ance in Nah and Edgecombe, and parti
cularly in Nash as an instructress, that i
feel justified in expressing the t.elief that
those who commit their children to her
management ill have nothing to fear.
The first session will commence on
Monday, tith JaiVy, .837,
And end on Friday, the 23 t of Jun". The
2. id session will commence on Monday,
the 3-d of July, and end on Friday the 8ih
of December. Tho price of Tuition Ihe
same as at Tarborough, that is, Ten Dol
lars per session for the lower clases, and
Twelve Dollars per session for the higher.
No student will be received for a less term
than one session, unless providential acci
dents should prevent their commencing
with the session or ca'I them ofi" before it
ends, and in such cases the Tuition Mill be
charged only for the time at school. It is
particularly requested that the students
should begin with the session and be per
mitted to remain during the session, that
the teacher may have an opportunity of
doing justice to herself and her pupil?; for
it is designed that an Examination shall be
held at the end of each session. Board
can be had in a few families upon as cheap
or cheaper terms than in Tarborough or
Louisburg. It is hoped that this school
ill be liberalfy patronized, for no pains
will be spared to make it worthy of the
confidence ol the public.
