rJ'HE camomile flower, (or as it is offi
cially called, Antiikmis vocilis, or
('bamo-neliim. from the Grek words,
ha mm, on the ground, and .Melon, nu ap
pic; because it grows on the ground, and
mells like an apple,) is of a dull white
color, ol fragrant odor, and of a hitler ar
omatic taste.
Camomile is a mild tonic, in small do
es acceptable and corroborant to the
stomach. Ii is especially applicable to
that condition of general debility, with
languid appetite, which often attends con
valescence from idiopathic fevers.

liam Evans.
Among several cases the following is
found: An elderly lady, who had been 25
years so afflicted with nervous hypochon
dria, debility, &.c. that for the last imee
years she constantly received medical aid
from a respectable physician; but the
pressure and pain on her heart and breast,
and especially in her leit side, remained
immovable, attended at long intervals
