1; DISEASE A UNIT, Impurity of the BLOOD the only Dis ease. OW simple, yet how wise, how good and beautiful are all the laws 01 na ture? Simplicity and truth are stamped upon every law of the creation. The mighty worlds which roll in space in 'every degree ol Velocity and direction are all governed by ATTRACTION OF MATTER TO MATTER. This principle governs the human bo dy, lirandreth's Vegetable Universal Pills attract all impurities ol the blood to the bowels, which organ expels ihem from the body. Attraction and disease are boih units. All accidents or infec tions only affect the body in proportion as they occasion impurity of the blond. The bowel for instance are costive this most important organ is closed the consecmence is a ereat accumulation of "impurities, which, as they cannot get out by their usual passage, are forced into the blood, occasioning impurny ot blood. Thus, Fevers, Cholics, Rheumatism, Coughs, and Colds are often produced But let Brandreth's Pills be used in such r dOses as will effectually evacuate the bow els, and health is restored at once. Hot weather, by occasioning debility produces impurity of blood; from which 'arises Dyseniary, Cholera Morbus, cramps '.L- i i r li u back and hip joints, headache, &c, &c These unpleasant companions are speedi 'ly removed by a few doses ol Brandreth's Pills, which soon restore health by puri fying the blood. Grief, great anxieties of mind, much watching, fear, bad food, intemperance, residence near marshy land, tend in a ve iy powerful degree to promote impurity of the blood, which soon shows itself in Erysipelas, consumption, epileptic fits, appoplexy, scurvy, lever and ague, de langemenl of the stomach and bowels, all which symptoms will soon be removed by purifying the blood with the Bran dreth Pills. Small pox. scarlet fever, putrid fevers, even spotted fever, and fevers of all kinds are propagated only by those whose blood i in a state of impurity; thee maladies ate mild or virulent according as the blood be charged with impurities pre vious to the infection being received, and never attack those whose blood is in a state of purity The Brandreth Hi lis, by purifying the blood, soon cure these mal adies; in fact the Pills go at once to col lect all the causes of these complaints, which are brought by their health restor ing powers to the bowels, and so removed out of the body, leaving the blood pure and healthy. Fraclure, bruises, &c. &c, pioduce im purity of the blood by occasioning a de- . ranjrement of the ceneral health. If Brandreth Pills are uot used so as to pre vent an accumulation of humors in the bowels, these humors pass into the blood, and soon find their way to the weak part, i. e. the local injury, and are likely soon to produce inflammation, often mortifica-' ,tion of the part. Whereas, were the Brandreth Pills used daily alter any inju vy bad been done to the body, uothing would go to the injured part but what was necessary for its perfect restoration. Often when a bone has been broken and this advice has been followed, it has got well in a quarter the upual time. It would j be well for those exposed to dangers . to consider this suhj' ct, its adoption might sav.e their bodies from mutilations, might save their lives. Ulcers are produced by impurity of the blood; the part where it breaks out had in days gone by been injured, and therefore its powers of life could not repel the im purity of the blood when it settled upon it. Soon the acidity or secrocily exco riates the fibres and opens the ulcers. ,Here we have a drain or outlet opened for the bad humors, for the impurity of .the blood to pds out of the body. Salves and all kinds of applications are applied .to it, but it don't gel well. But let Bran dreth's Pills be used, say four or six ol them to be taken daily, ihe Pills will open another drain, i. e. the bowels; the bad humors contained in the blood will thus be discharged from the body by their na tural outlet, and none will be lell to keep up the irritation and burning in the ulcer, and it will get well. In like manner are white swelling", unnatural enlargements, liver complaints, gravel, salt rheum, dis ease ol ihe prostrate gland, cured hy ab stracting with the Brandreth Pills the iuijuiuies irom me Dlooa. All persons whodo not feel well should use these " I Ik' . . . ' I ins. ino man was ever sick Ions whose bidod was kept pure. No man can be in ' good health if his blood be impure. amoti "itii me im purities Ol VOUT blood lo your bowels with Brandreth's'pills and you will be as strong and heallhv as me uic wunin you iscapanieol sustaining. HOWARD Tarboro', June 3. 1841. Doctor U rn. E VANS' SOOTHING SYRUP For children Teething, PREPARED BY HIMSELF. To Mothers and Nurses. fJJlHE passage of the Teeth through the Utll9 JJIWUUICO U UUUIC3VMUC rl 1 1 1 Udll gerous symptoms. It is known by moth ers that there is great irritation in the mouih and gums during this process. The gums swell, the secretion of saliva is in creased, the child is seized with frequent and sudden fits of crying, watchings, starl ing in the sleep, and spasms of peculiar parts, the child shrieks with extreme vio lence, and thrusts its fingers into its mouth. If these precursory symptoms are not spee dily alleviated, spasmodic convulsions uni versally supervene, and soon cause the dissolution of the infant. If mothers who have their little babes afflicted with these distressing symptoms, would apply Dr. William Evans's Celebrated Soolhinc Syrup, which has preserved hundreds of infants when thought past recovery, from being suddenly attacked with that fatal malady, convulsions. This infallible remedy has preserved hundreds of Children, when thought past recovery, from convulsions. As soon as the Syrup is rubbed on the gums, the child will recover. This preparation is so in nocent, so efficacious, and so pleasant, that no child will refuse to let its gums be rubbed with it. When infants are at the age of four months, though there is no ap pearance of teeth, one bottle of the Syrup should be used on the gums, (o open the pores. Parents should never be without the Syrup in the nursery where ihere are young children; for if a child wakes in the night with pain in the gums, the Syrup immediately givesease by open ing the pores and healing the gums; there by preventing Convulsions, Fevers, &ic. To the Agent of Dr. Evans' Soothing Syrup: Dear Sir The great benefit afforded lo my suffering infant by your Soolhing Syrup, in a case of protracted and painful dentition, must convince every feeling parent how essential an early ap plication of such an invaluable medicine is to relieve infant misery and torture. iMv infant, while teething, experienced such acute sufferings, that it was attacked with convulsions, and my wife and family sup posed that death would soon release ihe babe from anguish fill we procured a bot tle of your Syrnp; which as soon as ap plied to the gums a wonderful change was produced, and after a few applications the child displayed obvious relief, and by con tinuing in its use. I am glad to inform you, the child has completely recovered, and no recurrence of that awful complaint has since occurred; the leeih are emana ting daily and the child enjoys perfect health. I giveyoti my cheerful permission to make this acknowledgment public, and will gladly give any information on this circumstance. When children begin to be in pain with their teeth, shooting in their gums, put n little of the Syrup in a tea-spmm, and with the finger let the child's gums be rubbed for two or three minutes, three times a dav. It must not be put lo the breast immediately, for the milk would take the syrup off too soon. When ihe teeth are just coming through their gums, mothers should immediately apply ihe sy rup; it will prevent the children having a fever, and undergoing that painful opera tion of lancing the gums, which always makes the tooth much harder to come through, and sometimes causes death.
