DISEASE A UNIT, impurity of the RLOOD the only Disease. "OVV simple, yet how wise, how good and beautiful are all the laws of na ture? Simplicity and truth are stamped upon everv law of the creation. The mighty worlds which roll in space in everv deetee ol velocity am! direction are all governed hy ATTRACTION OF M ATTEU TO MATTER.. This principle governs the human bo dy. Brandreth" s Vegetable Univtrsal i Pills attract all impurities of the blood sto the bowels, which organ expels them lromthe body. Attraction and disease are both units. All accidents or infec lions only aneci the body in proportion as they occasion impurity of the blond. . .The bowel? for instance are costive- this most important organ is closed -the consequence is a great accumulation impurities, which, as they cannot get out by their usual passage, are forced into the blood, occasioning impurity of blood Thus, Fevers, Cholics, Rheumatism Coughs, and Colds are often produced But let Brandrelh's Pills be used in such doses as will effectually evacuate the bow els, and health is restored at once. Hot weather, by occasioning; ilehiiny Droduces imnuritv of blood; from which M arises Dysentary, Cholera Morbus cramp in the bowels, feebleness, pain in the back and hio ioints. headache, &c, &c These unpleasant companions are speedi ly removed by a few doses of Brandrelh's Pills, which soon restore health by puri fying the blood. Grief, great anxieties of mind, much watching, fear, bad food, intemperance, residence near marshy land, tend in a ve ry powerful degree lo promote impurity of the blood, which soon shows itself in Erysipelas, consumption, epileptic fits, appoplexy, scurvy, lever and ague, de rangement of the stomach and bowels, all which svmntoms will soon be removed by purifying the blood with the Bran dreth Pills. Small pox, scarlet fever, putrid fevers, even spotted fever, and fevers of all kinds are propagated only by those whose blood is in a state of imnuritv; thee maladies are mild or virulent according as the blood be charged with impurities pre vious to the infection being received, and never attack those whose blood is in state of purity. The Brandreth Pills, by purifying the blood, soon cure these mal adies; in fact the Pills go at once to col lect all the causes of these complaints, which are brought by their health restor ing powers to the bowels, and so removed out of the body, leaving the blood pure and healthy. Fracture, bruises, &c. &c, pioduce im purity of the blood by occasioning a de rangement of the general health. If Brandreth Pills are uot used so as to pre vent an accumulation of humors in the bowels, these humors pass into the blood, and soon find their way to ihe weak part, i. e. the local injury, and are likely soon to produce inflimmation, often mortifica tion of the part. Whereas weie t he Brandreth Pills used daily alter any inju ry had been done to the body, uothing would go to the injured pirt but what was necessary for its perfect restoration. Often when a bone has been broken and this advice has been followed, it has goi well in a quarter the uual lime It would be well for those exposed lo d ingers to consider this suhj ct, its adopiion might tnve their bodies from mutilations, might save their lives. Ulcers are produced by impurity of Ihe blood; the part where it breaks out had in days gone by been injured, and therefore its powers of life could not repel the im purity of the blood when it settled upon it. ooon ine aciuity or secroeily exco nates the hbres and nnrns ihp hIpp Here we have a drain or outlet opened for the bad humors for the impurity of the blood to pass out of the body. Salves and all kinds of applications are applied to it, but it don't get well. But let Bran drelh's Pills be used, say four or six of them lobe taken daily, the Pills will open another drain, i. e. Ihe bowels; the bad humors contained in the blood will thus be discharged from the body by their na tural outlet, and none will be lelt to keep up the irritation and burning in the ulcer, and it will get well. In like manner are white swellings, unnatural enlargements. liver complaints, gravel, salt rheum, dis ease of the prostrate gland, cured by ab stracting with the Brandreth Pills the impurities from the blood. All persons wnoao noi teel we should use thi-se Pills. No man was ever sick long whose L. t .1 ... HOWARD Tarhoro June 3. 1841. Doctor Win. EVANS' SOOTHING SYJIUP For children Teething, PREPARED BY HIMSELF. To Mothers and Nurses. HP H E Dassaee of the Teeth ihroucrh the gums produces troublesome and dan gerous symptoms. It is known by moth ers that there is great irritation in the mouth and gums during this process. The gums swell, the secretion of saliva is in creased, the child is seized with frequent and sudden fits of crying, watchings, start ing in the sleep, and spasms of peculiar parts, the child shrieks with extreme vio lence, and thrusts its fingers into its mouth II these precursory symptoms are not spee dily alleviated, spasmodic convulsions Uni versally supervene, and soon cause the dissolution of the infant. If mothers who have their little babes afflicted with these distressing symptoms, would apply Dr V wham Evans s Celebrated Soothing byrup, which has preserved hundreds ol infants when thought past recovery from being suddenly attacked with thai fatal malady, convulsions. 1 his infallible remedy has preserved hundreds of Children, when thought past recovery, from convulsions. As soon as the Syrup is rubbed on the gums, the child win recover. 1 his preparation is so in nocent, so efficacious, and so pleasant, that no child will refuse to let its gums be rubbed with it. When infants are at the age of four months, though there is no ap pearance of teeth, one bottle of the Syrup should be used on the gums, to open the pores. Parents should never be without the Syrup in the nursery where there are young children; lor if a child wakes in the nicht with pain in the irums. the Syrup immediaiely givesease by open ing ihe pores and healing the gums; there by preventing Convulsions, Fevers, &c. 1 o the Agent ol Dr. r-vans boothing Svrup: Dear Sir The great benefit afforded to my suffering infant by your Soothing byrup, in a case ol protracted and painful dentition, must convince every feeling parent how essential an early ap plication of such an invaluable mediciue is to relieve infant misery and torture. Mv infant, while teething, experienced such acute sufferings, that it was attacked with convulsions, and my wife and family sup posed that death would soon release the babe from anguish till we procured a bot tle of your Syrnp; which as soon as ap plied to the gums a wonderful change was produced, and after a few applications the child displayed obvious relief, and by con tinuing in its use. I am glad to inform you, the child has complete' recovered, and no recurrence of that awful complaint has since occurred; the teeth are emana ting daily and the child enjoys perfect health. I giveyou my cheerlul permission to make this acknowledgment public, and will gladly give any information on this circumstance. When children begin to be in pain with their teeth, shooting in their gums, put a little of the byrup in a tea-spoon, and with the finger let the child's gums be rubbed for two or three minutes, three times a day. It must not be put to the breast immediately, for the milk would take the syrup off too soon. When the teeih are just coming through their gums, mothers should immediately apply the sy rup; it will prevent the children having a fever, and undergoing that painful opera tion of lancing the gums, which always makes the tooth much harder lo come through, and sometimes causes death. So great indeed had iheir efficacy invariably proved, thai it was scarcely less than miraculous to those who were unacquainted with the beauti fully philosophical principles upon which they were compounded, and upon which they consequently act. The following are among the distress ing variety nf human diseases, to which The Vegetable Ure Pills Are well known to be infallible: DYSPEPSIA, by thoroughly cleans ing the first and second stomachs, and creating a flow of pure healthy bile, in stead of the stale and acrid kind: Flatu lency, Palpitation of the heart, Loss of appetite, heart-burn and headache, rest lessness, ill temper, anxiety, languor and melancholy, which are the general symp toms of Dyspepsia, will vanish as a natural consequence of its cure. Costiveness, by cleansing the whole length of the intes tines with a solvent process and without violence; all violent purges leave the bowels costive within two days. Diarr hcea and cholera, by removing the sharp acrid fluids by which these complaints are occasioned, and by promoting the lubri cative secretions of the mucous mem brane. Fevers of all kinds, by restoring the blood to a regular circulation through the process of perspiration in some cases, and the thorough solution of all intestinal obstructions in others. The IAfc Jllcdicincs Have been known to enre Rheumatism permanently in three weeks, and Gout in half that lime, by removing local inflam mation from the muscles and ligaments of the joints. Dropsies o all kinds, by free ing and strengthening the kidneys and bladder; they operate most delightfully on those important organs, and hence have ever been found a certain remedy for the worst cases of gravel. Also Worms, by dislodging from the turnings of the bowels the slimy matter to which these creatures adhere; Asthma and consump tion, by relieving the air vessels of the lungs from the mucus, which even sliclit colds will occasion, which if not removed becomes hardened, and produces those dieadful diseases. Scurvy, Ulcers, and inveterate Sores, by the perfect purity winch these L,ile fills give to the blood, and all the humors; Scorbutic Eruvtions and bad complexions, by their alterative effect upon the fluids that feed ihe skin, the morbid state of which occasions all Erup tive complaints, sallow, cloudy, and other aisagreeable complexions. The use of these pills for a very short time, will effect an entire cure of. Salt rheum. Erysipelas, and a striking improvement in the clear ness of the skin. Common colds and Influ enza will always be cured by one dose, or by two, even in the worst cases. Piles as a remedy for this most distressing & obstinate malady, the Vegetable Life Pills deserve a distinct and emphatic recom mendation. It is well known to hundreds in the city of New York, lhat the origina tor of these invaluable Pills was himself afflicted with this complaint for upwards of thirty five years, and that he tried in vain every remedy prescribed within the whole compass of the .Materia Medica. He however, at length, tried the Medicine which he now offers lo the public, and he was cured in a very short time, after his recovery had been pronounced not only improbable, but absolutely impossible, by auy human means. All that Mr. Moffat reqaires of his pa tients is to be particular in taking the Life Medicines strictly according lo the direc tions. It is not by a newspaper notice, or by any thing that he himself may say. in their favor, that he hopes lo gain credit. It is alone by the results of a fair trial.
