Dr. D. Jayne, Dear Sir, having made use of
your Carminative Balsam in my family, and find

The undersigned having been afflicted during
the past winter with a disease in the stomach,
sometimes producing great pain in the stomach for
tenor twelve hours without intermission, and hav
ing tried various remedies with little effect, was
furnished with a bottle of Dr. D. Javne's Carmi
native Balsam. This he used according to the
directions, ard fuund invariably that this medi
cine caused the pain to abate in three or four min
utes, and in fifteen Or twenty minutes every unea
sy sensation was entirely quieted. Tho medicine
was afterwards used whenever indications of the
approach of pain were perceived, and the pain was
thereby preventedi He continued to use the me
dicine every evening, and sometimes in th morn
ing, and in a few weeks health was so far restored.
that the sufferer was relieved from a large amount
of oppressive paini From experience, therefore,
he can confidently recommend Dr. D.Jayne's Car
minative Balsam, as a salutary medicine for disea
ses of the stomach and bowels. A. Siiinn
Allegheny city, July 16th, 1843i
From the Rev Dr, Bacon,
From a long acquaintance with Dr. Jayne's Car
minative Balsam, 1 believe it to be a very happy
combination, and a useful medicine in many com
plaints which almost constantly occur in our coun
try, such as bowel affections of children, colic,
cramps, looseness, dyspeptic disorders of the sto
mach, coughs, and affections of the breast, togeth
er with all those diseases atteuded with sourness
of the stomach; and believe that physicians will
often find it a useful remedy in their hands, and one
that is proper for domestic use, and can be put in
to the hands of persons at large with perfect safety

Dr. Taylors Balsam of Liverwort
FROM 375 BOWERY, NEW YORK.
TOOR the cure of coughs, colds, asthma,
whooping cough, catarrh, pains in
the side and breast, bronchitis, liver com
plaints, and all those affections of tho
throat and lungs, which are a source of so
much suffering and so often terminate in
consumption, this remedy is justly and
highly distinguished. It is purely vege
table, mild and gentle in its effects upon
the system, and can be taken in the :Qst
delicate cases with safety as well as utili
ty. So extensively has it been used and
so often proved successful, even in ex
remeand apparently almost hopeless ca
ses, not only as a palliative but as a rem
edy, that the Proprietor feels no hesitan
cy in introducing it, and recommending it
to all who unfortunately may have occa
sion to resort to some means of recovery;
Physicians, familiar with its effects and
aware of the healing properties of thU
vegetable preparation, not unfrequently
presciibe it in their practice; and with
the Medical Faculty generally, it has met
with more than ordinary approbation. '
(QTCONSUMPTION. The following
remarks were taken from the last number

The following certificate was given us a
few days since by Capt. Scott, of Elizabeth
City, N. C.
"Being constitutionally predisposed to con

of this diseas,) and having suffered severely from
irritation of the lungs, accompanied with cough
