6th of October. The city is in the quiet
occupation of our troops. The Matamoras
"Flag" of the 29th 'of Sept. says that Am
pudia, in his interview antecedent to the
capitulation of Monterey, stated to Gen.
Taylor that Commissioners had proceeded
to Washington on a mission of peace.
