For publishing in-the City f Raleigh a semi-monthly Papery to be called The Southern Advocate i ' gL It Is well known to a great, many of our readers that the religionists with whom we have to contend, have so blen ded the religiqn they -profess with poli tics, that it has become almost impossible to expose, the plans they have gotten up to obtain money and law power, without digressing from the established rule by which, the Primitive has been and is to be published. The primitive is designed to advocate Primitive doctrine and usages found in the Bible, and not to blend them with politics. But it has become notori ous that - there are two sets of people among us whose actions arc striking at our Constitutional and equal rights, and should they, succeed, thcyT, in my judg mcnt, will be both ready at the same time to strike the fatal blow at our liber ty. Vou, my brethren, are the salt oi the earth, and for the elect sake those days were shortened; and who knows that, by a united exertion on our part in prayer, and in endeavoring to Ia the approaching evils before the people, God may yet leave us national protection. This is possessed only by few. The great majority of the remedies advertised of this class are manufactured by persons whe have no idea -of the relative or individual powers of the drugs they usd It is this cause, more than any other, which occasions the inertness and often injurious effects, produced by advertised remedies. An J hence the general prejudice which prevails against them. Now there is a great difference in this respect, with regard to the pills made by Dr. B. Brandreth, and consequently, their superior claims upon the public. Each of the articles P08'" ltie Ri andreth Pills Are prepared in that way which will secure their beneficial effects to the system in the safest and easiest manner. For instance, some ingredieau have to bf prppared in the vacuo; that is the air is exhausted in the utensil, end remains so until a , combination is effected with other ingredients, which afterwards prevent the air from acting iu uriously upon the medicine. . Again, the j ropor tion of each ingredientdepends upon its multiply ing power upon other ingredients For the power of different vegetable purgatives upon each other is governed by similar laws that govern the power of figures by.multiplication. Nine added to nine make eighteen: but nine times nine are eighty onei So it is with, some vegetable purgatives By adding nine parts of one ingredient, and nine parts of another ingredient together, he power is increased not to eighteen, but to eighty-one. For example, either of the articles to produce any purgative effect, would have to be ued to the ex tout of eighty-one grains; by combining them only eighteen grains have to be used. Again, a nother ingredient is found to multiply this power' again, which in a proportion of two grains, would have no effect upon the animal economy, but which, added to eighteen grains of a compound of twoparts ofnine grains, each of two ingrdierts, will again multiply the power which they hate gained of eighty-one, to one hundred and sixty two. So again, the mixture of twenty grains can be again multiplied by an addition of two grains, to he power of three hundred and twenty-four ; grains of the original power of the two first ingre dients Here we have twenty-two grains, which, as a purgative, contain the power equal to three hundred and twentv-four ffrains of either .f the i . - ! articles alone; nevertheless, also so powerful sifter being thus combined, are safe in any quantity always having a beneficial effect, and in no case capable of doing injury, of which thousands bear ample witnessi ' . ; ' Let those in any way out ofheallh use th zsc Pills t They will find it mucfi to their advantage, for sale by " . - Geo.
