Tryom Chamber-of Commerce
Elects Neir Officers Saturday
J.N. Jackson, Sr. elected president of Try
on Chamber of Commerce Saturday night at
Meeting held in Missildine Hall. Other of
ficers elected are: A.L.Berry, Vice-presi
dent; W.R. Mehaffey, Treasurer; directors:
W.S.Green, Mrs.E.P.Williams, C.L.Brewer, R.
D.Lyons, Rev.C.P.Burnett. About SISOO was
subscribed by the 25 members present for
support of the. Chamber of Commerce for the
year 1928. Secretary Mehaffey 1 s report was
accepted and many expressions made showing
appreciation for his work. These were in
corporated in a resolution of commendation.
A summary of the year's work will be given
in tomorrow's Bulletin.
Fire Does Heary Damage
To Shields & Morris Company
Local plumbing house on Trade St. suffered
heavy damage of several thousand dollars
Sunday morning about 4:30 when the building
they occupy caught on fire from an unknown
origin. Good work by the fire department
saved the building from total destruction.
The building and equipment were insured.
Shields & Morris are moving to the basement
of the Hester building formerly occupied by
Marion Garrett.
