Tryon P. T. A. meets Monday afternoon at the school
auditorium. General J. M. Carson will be the principal
speaker. His subject will be “How the First Contingent of
A. E. F. Was sent to France in 1917.”
B. Y. P. U. Rally At Lynn Sunday
Postponed to Fourth Sunday
On account of the death of Mrs. W. G. Egerton of Mill
Spring, the B. Y. P. U. Rally which was to have held at Lynn has been
postponed to March 24th. Mrs. Egerton's funeral will be held at 2 p. m.
at Big Level church.
Landrum Principal Makes Hit
Prof. H. J. Howard, superintendent of the Landrum schools, made an
able address this morning before the Polk County Teachers Association
at Columhus. His subject was the “The Two Challenging Tasks of the
Public Schools. These tasks are the training citizenship, and the building
of character.

The Erskine W. M. Society at 4 p.m. An Irish
Tea from 4 to 6 by Methodist Women at the
Parish House. They will serve supper that
night to the Kiwanis Ladies night program. St.
Patrick's Day decorations will mark the occasion.
