Mrs. Egerton Buried
A thousand friends gathered at Big Level Sunday afternoon
to pay their last tribute of respect to Mrs. William Egerton
of Mill Spring, who died Friday night. The funeral was
conducted by Rev. J. M. Barber of Belmont, Rev. John
Arledge, and Rev. W. W. Womack. The Pace choir of
Saluda led the singing. F.K.McFarland, funeral director.
Polk Countg School Board
Named btj the Legislature
A dispatch from Raleigh states that the members of the Polk county
school board for the coming term are Miss Mae Irene Flentye of Tryon,
E. B. Cloud of Columbus, Henry Thompson of Mill Spring, R. M. Hall
of Saluda, Clarence Jackson of Green Creek.
Truon Golf Course Best

Harold Kennedy, who it is said, holds the world's record for number
of courses played on, played his 554th course Sunday at the Tryon
Country club. He said that it was the best nine hole course he had
ever played. His 555th game was played in Spartanburg.
IStittrauis Babies
Ladies Night program of the Kiwanis club Tuesday night at the Parish
House will be colorful event. All the decorations will carry out the spirit
of St. Patrick Day. Music and short witty talks will feature the meeting.
The ladies of the Methodist church will serve the dinner.
