He is helping launch the final program for the orphans under care of Near East Relief. Country Club Work Progressing Work on the Tryon Country Club building is moving along nicely and President Brown says that he expeas it to be finished in about three weeks, just in time for the horse show aowd. Crowley Delightful Kitoanis Program The Kiwanis Ladies Night,program at the Parish. House last night was very entertaining with short speeches and musical numbers. Mr. J. S. Massenburg gave an interesting talk on the ideals of Kiwanis. Mr. Thos. L. Elder gave -a brief history of Governor Tryon; Dr. John Bfittan Clarkiahisusual happy manner kept the audience in an uproar while he sandwiched in some food for thought. Mrs. Fried Sudduth of Hendersonville gave delightful whistling seleaions and Miss Mildred Louise Brockwell of Columbus a number of vocal solos. Both were en cored a number of times. Miss Muriel Harrington and Miss Lois Craw ley were pianists. Mr. James W. Cockrum, former Dist. Governor of Indiana, gave a pleasant greeting from the Hoosier state. A delicious supper was served by the ladles of the Methbdist church. No. 42
