Saluda Athlete Dracus Interest
Stephenson, a pitcher from Saluda, N. C. is to hurl the opening game
against High Point College at Spartanburg Friday, and it is reported
that the whole town's coming down to Spartanburg to see the native
son do his stuff. Stephenson has impressed Manager Kelly very much,
hence his call at the opening game.
Still Another Still Gone
Officers Panther and Edwards raided Coopers Gap again last night and
destroyed an 85 gallon copper still, a large amount of beer and 27 gal
lons of pure, good, whiskey. The operators of the still ran faster than
the officers.
Horse Show April Bth.
Reservations for Tryon’s fourth Annual Horse Show,
under the auspices of the Tryon Riding and Hunt Club,
will be opened Wednesday, March 27th at the Moun
tain Industries, or by addressing G. F. Stone, Box 608
Tryon. All reservations must be accompanied by check.
Boxes-6 seats to box, sl2 One seat in a box $2.00. Parking space
for car and one person $5.00; additional occupants $1 each. General
admission sl. Barbecue luncheon $1.25 per plate.
Banned Child Dies
The little two year old child of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar MeGuinn, who fell
in a tub of scalding water yesterday, died last night from the burns.
Firenaen to Meet
Chief Wilson is issuing a call for all volunteer firemen to meet Wed
nesday night at 7:30 at the City Hall for practice, etc.
