On Friday, March 7th between 8:15 and 8:30 A. M. a
devotional services will be broadcast to open the World
Day of Prayer for* Missions. Eighteen stations of the Na
tional Broadcasting company will present this service.’ Lo

No Picture Tonight
The Management of the Strand Theatre announces to his patrons that
there will be no feature for Monday and Tuesday, on account of the
Carnival and Bazaar, and the, Strand is co-operating in every way. The
Strand presents "She Goes To Waj;” Wednesday and Thursday.
No Weather Report
The usual monthly weather report recorded by Observer John
Orr will not be printed this time on account of the severe ill
ness of Mr. Orr who has been in bed for three week and not
able to tabulate the records.
Foster Tax Collector Possibility
Rumors in Tryon among friends of J. Robert Foster, state that Jie may
i run for Tax Collector in the coming primary. Mr. Foster is son of Post
" master J. R. Foster of Mill Spring ana was a candidate for sheriff in 1924
E.B. Cloud Elected Chairman
Democratic Co. Committee
The Democratic County executive committee met this afternoon and
elected E.B. Cloud Chairman-, J. S. Massenburg, Vice-Chairman; F.
M. Burgess, secretary. Speeches were made by Messrs. Cloud and Mas
senburg urging the party to stick together for a November victory. Rep
resentatives were present from Green Creek, Columbus, Saluda, and
White Oak.
