Boys Win in Tournament
Thrilling championship games were played last night on
the Landrum basketball court. Try on girls won from Colum
bus 15-11. Columbus boys won from Tryon 20-11 and retained
for keeps the silver cup donated by Carolina Sporting Goods
Co. of Charlotte, which has been won by Columbus three con
stitutive years.

Chairman John T. Smith announces that the county Republican conven
vention will be held,April 2, 12:30 p. m. at the Courthouse in Colum
bus. A prominent patty leader will deliver the principal address. Candi
dates for county offices will be nominated, and the election of the coun
ty chairman, and delegates to the state and congressional conventions.
