Columbus Ginnery Incorporated
The following certificate of incorporation was filed Saturday
with the secretary of state: Columbus Ginnery, Inc., Columbus,
N. C. To conduct a general business of ginning cotton. Autho
rised capital stock $25,000, subscribed stock SIO,OOO. By W. D.
Westbrook, E.C. Davidson and Mrs. W.L. Davidson, Columbus.
Milk Testing Equipment Here
City Inspector Algie Wilson announces that all the test
ing equipment for grading local dairy milk had arrived
and is being installed at the City Water Works laboratory
where daily tests will be made of local cow milk. This will
put the loca l milk supply on the highest basis of any torwn in the
country. An inspection a few 'weeks ago by government expert showed
that every cow producing milk for Tryon was free of tuberculosis.
Small Fire at Landrum
The office of Dr. R. H. Wilds in the Mutual Bank building at
Landrum caught on fire last night about 8 o’clock and did several
hundred dollars damage before the local fire department could put it
out. Prompt work on their part saved the building and most of the
damage resulted from water.
