Harmon Field, Tuesuay, April 1, at one o’clock. Ride your
mount to Harmon Field or have it delivered to you there. Af
ter the barbecue a GYMKAHANA program, to which the gen
eral public is invited free, will be given at 2:15 as follows: Egg
and spoon race, Can race, Wheelbarrow race, Romeo and Ju
liet race, Cap & sweater race, Walking race, Mile dash race,
Musical chairs. This entertaining program is FREE to everybody.
Miss Sibyl Capps Married
A surprise to many Tryon friends was the name of Miss Sibyl Capps
in the “Marriages Recorded” column of the Spartanburg Herald yesterday.
The ceremony performed by Rev. G.GLeonard, took place at Inman,RC.
March 13, and was to have been kept a secret until Fall, but since county
records are open to the public it was published along with the usual list.
The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Betty Capps of Tryon, and has been in
the office of the Southern Mercerizing Co. for the past four years. The
groom is Mr. Marvin C. Brendall, of Morganton, a young business man,
graduate of Wake Forest college, and a son of Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Bfen
dall of Greensboro, N. C.
