Rotarians Hear Dr. Solomon
Dr. Solomon of Savanah, Ga. was the principal speaker
at the weekly Rotary luncheon, held at the Lake Lanier
Tea House yesterday. Dr. Solomons talk was very interesting,
touching on many subjects that pertain to boys and of the deal
ing with them. He went deeply into the relation of father and
son companionship.
Polk County Farmers and Farm
Women Return From State Tour
Fourteen Polk county farmers and form women, including Co. Act.
J, W. Artz, and Home Demonstrator, Miss Cox, returned Thursday
night from a four days tour including cities of Gilford College, Chapel
HUI, Greensboro, Raleigh, Wrightsville Beach, Carolina Beach, and Ft.
Fisher. At Raleigh the party visited state college, museum, capitol, in
sane asylum, and other public buildings. 800 miles was travelled at a
cost of about $8 per person, making the fare only 1 cast a mile for each
person, including transportation, rooms and board. Those the
trip were Messrs. Roland Giles, Campobello, Rt. 4; Glenn Clark, Tryon,
IU. 1; Dr. E. W. Dedmond, Columbus; L. L. Tallent, Columbus. The
women were Mrs. W. T. Head, Melvin Hill; Mrs. A. A. Edwards, Co

4-H Clubs To Take Coarse
County Agent John Artz and Home Demonstrator Miss
Florence Cox will leave Monday for Raleigh in company with
the Polk County delegates , of the Boys and Girls 4-H clubs, who will
attend the annual club short course at state college, Aug. 4to 9. The
following delegates have made reservations* Fred Feagan, Green Creek;
Curtis Bostic, Mary Cantrell, Beulah Powell, and Dora Stott of Hic
kory Grove; Lois Hines, New Hope; Dorothy and Ruby Lynch, Mill
Spring; Ruby Lee Corn, Red Mt.; Julia and Louise Jones, Salifda;
