Changes Made in Countg Schools According to a statement by County Superintendent P. S. White the following changes have been made in the schools of Polk Co. Miss Mary Jane Andrews of Inman to take the place of Miss Catherine Mc- Chesney at Columbus school, Mr. W. J. ' Nessbitt as principal of Mill Spring school succeeds Mr. G C Scaife. Mrs. W. J. Nessbitt. replaces Mrs. Henry Rucker, and Miss Alice Hicks of Reynolds, Ga. succeeds Miss Mattie McGilliard.. " v Green Creek and Melvin Hill schools have been consolidated, with school to be held at Green Creek. Changes there are Miss Ethel Hender son taking the place of Miss s Anrrie Hicks. Mrs. Clara F. Watson taking Miss Emily Hicks place, and Miss Mattie McGalliard as an exta teacher. Changes at Sunny View are Miss Bessie J. Helton taking. Miss Ellen Edwards place and Miss Fannye Biddy succeeding Mrs. Clara F. Watson. : At Green River Miss Layless Nanny takes Miss Estelle Walkers place. While at Hickory Grove Miss Alma Sanders of Landrum takes the place of Mr. T. L. Earle of Landrum. Brights Creek and Silver Creek schools have been consolidated and school will be held at Silver Creek. At Red Mountain Miss Esther Wilson succeeds, Mr. N. L. Hampton. At Sand. Green has been sworn in as a member, of the county school board. Tajon Again Wins Golf Honors In a tournament held on the Arrow Head Miniature Golf Course at Saluda Monday night, Tryon brought home both the ~ Ladies’ and the Men’s prizes. There were twelve entries. Saluda was represented by R. J. Scott, Charles Anderson, John Darby, Mr. Hopkins and Fred Pace. Tryon by Dr. 8.8. Bishop, Charles Nessmith, Bryson Edwards, Hart Richey and C. Edwards. Mrs. B. B. Bishop and Mrs. Hume Fraser played also, with Mrs. Bishop winning the ladies' prize of a dresser box and tray. Saluda men were eliminated in the semi-finals. Bishop came out victor one up aver his opponent, and as a prize won a carton of cigarettes.
