Columbus Bank to Open President Fred W. Blanton and Attorney J. Lee Lavendar re turned yesterday from Marshall , with the gpod news that Judge McElroy had. decided in favor of Polk County Bank and Trust Co. against the Continental Mortgage Co. and the Central Bank & Trust Co. of Asheville in regard to some notes held by those institutions. The decision will allow the Columbus bank to re-open with little material change, and leave a sur plus of $6,000 in the bank. As soon as a few minor details are completed the bank expects to open within a week.
