TUESDAY, APRIL 28 1931. Vol. 4 Enforcement Measure Ratified RALEIGH, April 27.- -The bill to amend and reenact the local law ap plying to Polk county, relative to the enforcement of the prohibition law, was ratified by the General Assembly Saturday. It was introduced by Senator W.K.McLean and provides for maximum fine of SSO, instead of straight fine of $25, or not more than 30 days in jail, for conviction Dor public drunkenness. —Asheville Citizen Kimberly, Interesting Speaker Mr. J. C. Kimberly of Tryon and Neenah, Wis. delighted the Kiwanis club today with an enlightening talk on the manufacture, use and distri bution of the paper products of his company, all of which are made of wood pulp. Sanitary napkins, towels, handkerchiefs, pads, etc. all with thejr velvety softness are several times more absorbent than cotton. The speaker brought some samples of his products for inspection by the club. The almost miraculous transition from wood seems impossible. The members were greatly interested not only in product, but in .its sale and distribution over the world. Mr. Nelson jackson and Major Sharp who heard the speech at the Rotary club some time ago came to hear it again today. After the meeting the speech was discussed in small groups sot some time. Every school boy who loves big business and things done on a big scale scientifically should hear Mr. Kimberly. Methodist Revival Tonight p/“Why Should I Be a Christian” is the subject of R.ev.
