Dr. Clark, Baccalaureate Speaker
Dr. John Brittan Clark delivered an inspiring baccalau
reate sermon last ni 6 ht at the Landrum High School graduat
ving class. His text was, “Nevertheless David took the strong
hold of Zion”. The main thought of Dr. Clark’s sermon was
that if people said that a thing could not be done and you
knew it could, go on and try, and with the help of God you
will do it. Rev. W. P. Meadows gave the Invocation and Rev. A. C.
Odom the Benediction. The music was furnished by the High School
Glee Club.

Memorial Sercices at Mill Spring
A large crowd attended the annual Memorial Services at the
Mill Spring Baptist church yesterday. A program was given in the
morning by the children of the Sunday School, after which Rev. C. B.
Trammel, pastor of the church, gave his sermon. Lunch was then
served on the ground, and in the afternoon Rev. Dixon delivered the
Memorial /Iddretf.
Lynn Teachers Elected
The Ltjnn teachers for the coming gear have been
elected as follows: C. O. Storg, principal, fifth and
sixth grades; Dorothg Strauss, third and fourth
grades; Eunice Cloud first and second grades.
Uses of 66 Toir” Bags Taught
Home demonstration club women of Polk county during the
past week were taught by Miss Florence Cox many house
hold uses for flour and “tow” bags after they have been bleached.
