Vol. 4 Prophets Todaij In Bible days when the people were puzzled, knowing not what to do, which way to take, God spake to them through prophets. We greatly need such prophets to day. Are there any? Yes. Are we hearing them? Some present day prophets and their meseage to our day will be Dr. Clark’s subject this coming Sunday morning in Erskine Congregational Church at eleven sharp. One hour service. Mrs. Berry will teach the Adult Bible Class. Meeting at 9;45, the lesson beginning at 11. A very unusual opportunity to enjoy a famed and able teacher. Everyone invited. Morton Funeral Sundaij Funeral service for Mr. George E. Morton, will be held Sunday after noon at 3 o’clock at the Erskine Congregational church with Dr. Clark officiating. Interment in Tryon cemetery. Active pallbearers Messrs. George Arthur, Dwight Smith, C. J. Schoff, C. M. Howes, R. A. Leonard, Fred Swann. At The Churches PRESBYTERIAN: Due to the revival meeting at the Columbus Baptist church, Rev. McGeachy will not preach at Tryon tomorrow. The meet ing closes tomorrow night. EPISCOPAL: Holy Communion 8 a.m. Morning prayer and sermon. This afternoon the young peoples Conference opens at Kanuga Lake. It will continue until June 26. Those attending from the Holy Cross Parish at Tryon are Bertha Palmer, Betty Kuhn, Annie Hart, Tip Jervey and Carroll Leonard. Kanuga Lake will be open for conferences and ho tel guests throughout the summer. FIRST BAPTIST: “The Faithful Saying” is the subject at 11 o’clock “Hells Hurdles” at 8 p.m. Colored School of The Good Shepherd Holding Commencemet Sunday afternoon June 14th, 4 P.M. closing address by ReV. C. P. Bur nett. Wednesday night June 17th, 8:30 P.M. program* by local talents. Thursday night June 19th, 8:30 P.M. exercises by the school. To all of the above the public is cordially invited.
