TUESDAY, JUNE 23, 1931. 4-H Club Winners Spartanburg Htrald Columbus, N. C, June 22 —Miss Celia Whiteside, 16, of the Sunny view club, with a score of 99 per cent perfect was judged to be the healthiest 4-H club girl in Polk Countv in the health contest held among representatives from 4-H duos in the county at St. hospital, Tryon, Saturday afternoon. Walden Thompson, 17, Co- Multibus, and Horace Brannon, 16, of Greens Creek, each with a score of 97 per cent perfect tied in the contest among the 4-H club boys. They together with Miss Whitesides will represent Polk county in the Mountain district 4-H dub heath contest to be held among representa tives from 16 mountain counties of Western North Carolina at Tryon, July 11. The winner in this district contest will go to Raleigh in August to compete for state honors. Masons Elect Officers The following officers were elected last night at the Skyuka Masonic Lodge No. 605: G.L.Pace, W.M. E.B.Cawthray, S. W. Fred Wofford, J.W., J. H. Rion, Secty., G. E. Bell, Treas. Making Nature Trail Mr. B. E. Smith of the Bontanical Dept, of the University, who is now teaching botany at the Boy Scout Camp is making a nature trail at the 1 scout camp, along which will be planted the wild flowers of this region. Hie flowers will he tagged with their name so that anyone may learn their names. Pressed samples are also being prepared for the Camp mu seum for study by the scouts.
