Est. 1-31-28 Funeral For Mrs. Foster Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Dodd Foster, 64, wife of Postmaster, J. R. Foster, who died Saturday afternoon at her home in Mill Spring, will be held this afternoon at 4 o’clock at the White Oak Baptist church. Mrs. Foster was thrice married. Her first husband was James Lanford, and her second the Rev. Charles Smith, both of whom preceded her to ( withe grave. Besides her husband, J. R. Foster, she is survived by the fol ®*lowing children: J. W. Lanford, Birmingham; V. W. Lanford, Miami, Fla; Furman Smith, Mill Spring; three step-children, Mrs. W. L. Brisco, Asheville, N. C.; H H. Foster, Spartanburg, and J.R. Foster, Mill Spring; and the following sisters: Mrs. Lille Clement, Spartanburg; Mrs. W. M. Brewer, Atlanta; Mrs. S. G. Benjamin, Greenwood. Active pallbearers will be J. H. Gibbs, W.G. Egerton, D. B. Flyun, W. C. Hague, John A. Arledge and John W. Artz. Form Ognx Company Here Messrs. B. L. Hendry, D. C. Bryan, W. R. Bryan, J. W. Bartleson and associates have formed the Mimbres Valley Oynx Co. which has been incorporated in this state to mine and prepare for manufacture Oynx in New Mexico. The stone is very beautiful, takes an excellent polish. Mr. Hendry says there is a large market for the finished product. Osteen Brothers’ Case The Sanitary Case, operated for sometime by J. C. Medles, changes hands today and will be managed by Osteen Brothers, Leonard and Waldo, of Hendersonville, but formerly of Tryon. Mr. Medley has no definite plans. Tax Complaints in Jtihjj Not today, nor tomorrow, as previously stated, but on Second Mon day in July, you may raise a kick about how your property has been as sessed. The Tax assessors board postponed its hearings for today and Tuesday until the Second Monday in July. All complaints must be made in writing. So it would be a good idea to go to the Courthouse now and ask who ever has the. books to let you see how much your taxes are listed at. If you have any objections, then write them down and pre sen) them to the Board at their meeting on Second Monday in July,
