Est. 1-31-28 Kudzu Meeting a Success The Kudzu meeting held last Fridag in Green Creek was well attended, sags Countg Agent John W. Artz. • Oner 175 farmers were present to hear Ren. George Branscom folk about the adnantages of this excel lent hag crop and to see it growing on Mr. Brans com’s farm. 4-H Members go to Raleigh Columbus, July 13. On Monday morning, August 3, Miss Florence Cox and John W. Artz, home and farm agents of Polk county, will leave for Raleigh with a delegation of Polk county club boys and girls to at tend the annual State 4-H short course to be held from August 3 to 8 at State college. The trip will be made in one of the county’s big school buses and is being eagerly looked forward to by delegates who are plan ning to make the trip. While in Raleigh, the boys and girls will attend classes in the mornings; in the afternoons they will go on sight seeing trips to places of interest in and around Raleigh; and at night after ves per services they will enjoy games, stunts, singing, and other featured. Asheville Citizen Columbus Get Hail A small hailstorm visited Northeast Columbus yesterday afternoon and tore to shreds corn and cotton. Several hundred dollars damage was done. World Problems Discussed The Kiwanis club today discussed moratorium, debts, Germany, France, finance, trade balance, tariff, war. President John Land rum called a halt in the discussion and stated that these impor tant problems would be settled at the next meeting which will be held at night, 7:30 at Mimosa followed by a directors meeting. A number of the members agree with Senator Bbrah. They want to know first what Germany intends to do with the money we would lend her.
