Merrick, was fatally injured Tuesday afternoon when her car overturned and~ crashed into a ditch on Columbia-Greenville highway. She was unconscious when removed and died in a few minutes. The deceased was the wife of John G. Landrum, president of Landrum-Chiles Grocery Co. Funeral services will be held Thursday. Polk Loses State Aid On Four School Teachers J.E. Coburn of State Equalization Board was here yesterday. We will be short four teachers unless special provision is made for them. Tryon will lose one. Also Hickory Grove, Rock Springs and Coxe. Polk has been allotted 79 teachers.
