L. Underwood Dead Mr. J. L. Underwood, 76,- of Tryon died about 3 a. m. today following several days illness. Funeral services will be held Sunday, 2:30 p. m. v at Lynn Baptist church. Rev. Chas. Trammel officiating. Those , surviving are his widow, and following children: Mrs. C. D. Davenport, Mrs. Ed Walters, Mrs. W. C. Ward, Mrs. Silas Fowler, Messrs. Carl and Lee Un derwood. St. Louis Wins World Series Score 4-2, Earnshaw and Grimes pitchers, Philadelphia staged a rally in 9th with 2 men out. They filled the bases, drove in 2 runs and knocked Grimes from box in favor of Hallahan, but couldn’t put over winning runs. Ralph Jackson at Kiwanis Club meets Tuesday, 1 p. m. at Mimosa Inn. Ralph S. Jackson in charge of program.
