Grayson Arledge Dies Former Polk County legislator died gesterdag after noon at his home in Mill Spring. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:30 at Mill Spring Baptist church. Four chil dren survive: Mrs. Will R. Walker of Tryon, Mrs. W.M.Walker of Mill Spring, Mrs. A.H.Elliott of Akron,Ohio. Mrs. Jim Haddon of Asheville. Mr. Arledge was 83 years old. Bom in Polk county. Brother of the late John Arledge who was register deeds for many years. Jim Thompson Buried Mr. Jim Thompson was burkd this afternoon at Mill Spring Metho dist chvrch. He was the father of H.E. and Grover Thompson, and y a brother of Commissioner Granville Thompson. Funeral for Mrs. E.W. Green - Mrs. Elbert Green of Mill Spring RFD, was buried Jester day at Big Level cemetery. Mrs. Green-was found dead in bed. Her husband and one daughter , Mrj. John Garrett survive. Tryon Loses to Blue Ridge. Hendersonville, Nov. 5: The Blue Ridge Hilltoppers subdued a fighting Tryon high team here this afternoon, 38 to 0. Tryon staged a great fight against the heavier Blue Ridge team but their defense cracked in the final quartet. Defensive work of Thomas Blackwell who backed up -o. . the line for the visitors was great, and Palmer and J. Blackwell were also outstanding. J.Blackwell gave one of the best-punting exhibitions ever staged here. He averaged almost 50 yards on half a dozen kicks. ‘Possum & ‘Taters Tonite About 20 big, fat o’possums have been kept up for a month for the big possum supper tonight at Landrum Baptist church dining room.
