Est. 1-31.28 - Relief Unit Meets After the meeting of the Rotary today the relief unit of the Polk r County Council held a meeting at Oak Hall and there will be a like meeting each Friday during the winter season to consider relief work. ■ i Parish Meeting Mondag Annual Parish Meeting of Church of the Holy Cross, Monday evening at 8 o’clock at Parish Hall. At which time there will be reports from the officers' of the church in the different departments also the election of vestrymen and appointments of the wardens for the ensuing year. After the business session St. Agnes Guild will serve refreshments. All mem* bers of the Parish and others interested in the services or work .of the church are most cordially invited. At Rotary Today Mr. J. B. Hester, Sr. had charge of the program. J. S. Massenburg led an interesting discussion of the local, state, national and international affairs. Interesting Lanier Meeting A large crowd heard Major Sharp and Mr. E. W. Frost speak on the Manchurian situation yesterday at the Lanier Club. * s Tryon’s Weather Over the radio and in the papers come reports of blizzard, and snow* storms out west. Here in Tryon people are earing vegetables out of their garden. A few weeks ago the temperature went to 82. Mr. J. B. Hester * is enjoying green pepper today from his own garden and this is January Bth. Bulletin $1.50 a Year
