Fry on Fire Dept. Report
Chiet W. A. Wilson’s fire department report shows that It calls were
answered during the past year. Total damage $2,250. Causes: oil stove
explosions, short circuits, electric iron, sparks fro/n chimney, and some '
were of unknown origin. The modest chief failed to report the approx
imate value of property saved by prompt response to these calls.

The Tryon Riding & Hunt Club will hold a meeting at Pine Crest
Inn, Friday night at 8 o’clock. All members and all people interested in
the Tryon Horse Show are urged to attend.
The Methodist Women’s Missionary Society is giving an oyster and
chicken salad supper next Thursday evening beginning at 6 o’clock at
the Parish House.
Western Union Mores Ottice
The Western Union Telegraph Co. has moved its Trade St. office
back to the depot where it will be handled by the railroad officials.
Dist, Mgr. J. E, Hammerly arrived here today to close up the affairs of
the company. He stated that the change was necessary for economic
reasons.
