Missionarg Meeting At Mill Spring Columbus, Aug. 24 - The Woman’s Missionary union of the Green River association will hold its annual meeting in the Mill Spring Baptist church Saturday. Miss Alva Lawrence, of Raleigh, is expected to be the principal speaker, Mrs. J.A. Hunnicut, ot Cliffside, will also address the meeting. The first service will begin in the morning at 10;30 o’clock with picnic lunch at noon and a service in the afternoon. Citizen Scont Committee Meets Tonight The Polk County Scout Committee, of which F. P. Bacon is chairman will meet tonight at the Piedmont Scout camp on Lake Lanier. Supper will be served at 6 p.m. It Happens Once In A Bine Moon They say there is a man who isn’t in the show. He left town and is afraid to come home. We can think of nothing funnier than splashing the skirts of B.L. Ballenger and John Artz with tomatoes. “Ohs” and “Ahs” are now being whispered down the street when little bits of in formation leaks out about the show. City Manager Helms hurried back from his vacation to see what’s going on, Harold Crandall was seen go ing up the street yesterday with two big beverage kegs under each arm. “Oh”, “Ah”, The atmosphere is getting charged. So look for develop ments. STAGE DOOR SNOOP Crandall, Rotarij Speaker Harold W.Crandall will be the chief speaker at Rotary Friday, 1 p.m. at Oak Hall. He will tell about the parts of Enrope he recently visited. B. L. Ballenger has charge of the program.
