Sunday School and B.Y.P.U. as usual. PRESBYTERIAN: Rev. D. M, AlcGeachy will preach in Tryon at the 11 o’clock service. Subject: “Parables That Teach”. Salnda 11 am. Mr. Thompson preaching. Columbus 8 p,p. Air. McGeachy preaches on “The , Prince of Peace” METHODIST: Rev. O.L. Robinson will preach at Tryon at 8 o’clock and in Saluda at 11 o’clock. EPISCOPAL; Holy Communion 8 o’clock. No other services. \ CATHOLIC; 7;30 a.m. Mass. Father Florian. CONGREGATIONAL; 11 a.m. Dr. Lewis H. Keller preaching. Sock Party at Columbus was given by the Baptist Sunday School, Friday evening on the Court House lawn. The object of the party was to raise money to pay on the church debt. Each member brought enough money to amount to three times the number of the sock which he wore. $55 was raised A trip to Ridgecrest was given to the class that- raised the most money. The Women’s Bible Class, teacher, Mrs. Trinte Clark, won in the contest. The Tryon Christian Endeavor will give a program at the Columbus Presbyterian Church, Sunday evening at 7;15. The Ballenger Co. store was entered last night through the basement door/'b'y" unknown thieves. SIO.OO in change was taken from the cash register. The thieves made their entrance by breaking glass out of door. W. C. Ashley, formerly of west Palm Beach, Fla. ts opening a con tracting business in Columbus. He has been here about six months and helped build the Vance-Yale and Penland homes. Miss Frances Moose has returned to her home in Spartanburg alter visiting Miss Nellie Rushing. Jessie and Catherine Pearson of Melrose are visiting Buddy Moore, Mr. and Mrs. R. G. Hamilton of Tryon are parents of a son born this morning at the hospital. Mr. S. F. Dana of Columbia, S.C. is in Tryon visiting his wife who is a patient at St. Lukes Hospital, Miss Alene Ward entertains a number of friends with a dance this evening at her home. Miss Mae Flentye leaves Monday for Lake Fairfield for short visit accompanied by her niece, Miss Ross. GE.Callaham & son Thos., and C.R.Brown, Lynchburg, Va. visiting N.R.Rector. J.R.Butler, Los Angeles, here. Angelo Kerhulas, of Athens, Greece, who is a lawyer, and student at Columbia Univ. and Nicholas Kerhulas of N.Y.City will visit cousin Ernest, Sunday, Mr. &. Mrs E. Kerhulas & Miss Margaret re/urn from Rock Hill, S. C. today. Elizabeth Anne Vining, fifth birthday, party today. Mrs Jesse Rhodes who has been recuperating from a tonsilitis operation at the home of her sister, Mrs. Geo. Cathey has returned home.
