Kiwanis Meets Tuesday

Tryon lost two games to Enka Saturday.

Death Claims Miss Waters
Miss Bertha Waters ’ Tryon sixth grade student and daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Z. Waters, died this morning at Mary Black hospital,
following long illness. Her leg was amputated several weeks ago in
an effort to save her life.
Two Stills Captured
The sheriff’s force captured two stills at Pea
Ridge Fridag. One had 400 gallons of heer; and the
other had 4 harrells. Both steamers. No Arrests.
Community Meetings
Mrs. el. C. Barber of Barber, N.C. will explain the
State Grange at Mill Spring school tonight, at 8.
Tuesdag at Green Creek, 8 p.m. Wednesdag at New
Hope, 3 p.m.
Slack’s Pharmacy donated drinks this afternoon to the chorus
girls in “Once in a Blue Moon”.
