TUESDAY, OCT 11,1932 Pending Colnmbiis Streets Machinery is expected to be moved to Columbus the first of this week to begin paving streets around the courthouse square and four blocks on Peak street. An agreement has been reached whereby the State will pave these streets in return for a site that was obtained from the county on which to build the new convict camp. The work is expected to be rushed to completion in the near future. Asheville Citizen J. M. Butler Dies J. M. Butler, 80, well-known Tryon citizen, died this morning at 1 o’clock at his home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 o’clock at the First Baptist church with Dr. E. E. Bomar officiating, as sisted by the Rev. O. L. Robinson. Mr. Butler was born in Jackson county and came to Tryon about 45 years ago. Mr. Butler is survived by the following children: M.C. and Leland Butler of Tryon, Mrs. Grayson Edney, Valhalla, N. C. Archie Butler, Greenville, S. C. and Miss Eleanor Butler of Panama City, Panama. Also two brothers and three sisters: J. R. Butler, Los Angeles, Calif., W. J., Belton, S.C., Mrs. Annie Roberts of Proctor, Texas, Mrs. John Swail of Arcadia, Calif,, Mrs. Elizabeth Moss of Gleoville, N. C. Mrs. Thompson Dead Mrs. Thompson of Trgom Route One, died last night and mill he huried Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Ridings cemeterg. She mas about 74 gears old. Mushand and several children suroioe. * Kimanis Meeting Tonight About 60 people will assemble at Mimosa Inn tonight at 7 o’clock to enjoy a special Kiwanis program under the direction of Dr. John Brittan Clark who will present the work of Kiwanis with underprivileged children. Dist. Presbgterial Meeting Dist. No. 3 of the Kings Mountain Presbytery met today at the Colum bus Presbyterian church. 48 out of town delegates were present. Miss Mary Regan, the president, gave an interesting talk on the plans and purpose of the auxiliary. Mrs. Paul Neisler gave a talk on Barium Springs and a review of the study book; Several selections were sung by Mrs. N. R. Rector; Mrs. G. V. Patterson spoke on Personal Fvangelism. Est. 1-31-28
