Interesting Kiwanis Meeting Dr. John Brittan Clark presented an interesting program last night at Mimosa Inn showing the work of Kiwanis with underprivileged chil dren. Guests were present from Spartanburg and Hendersonville and they praised highly the work being done here. Talks were made by Editor J. T. Fain of Hendersonville, Kiwanis governors T. W. Crews, and Deck Hull of Spartanburg, Dr. Taylor of New York. President Jackson of Tryon, President Cobb of Spartanburg and Chairman Burrell of Spartanburg. Rites For J.M. Butler \ Funeral services for Mr. J. M. Butler were held this afternoon at the MjiTryon First Baptist church, with Dr. E. E. Bomar and the Rev. O. L. officiating. The pallbearers were B. L. Ballenger, T. W. Bal lew, Fred Wofford, J.B. Hester, Sr., W.W. Creasman, Claude Davidson. Free Monies at Mimosa The Kiwanis moving pictures from the Des Moines, lowa club will be shown tonight at Mimosa Inn at 8 o’clock. There will be no charge and anyone interested is welcome to come. The picture will show what Kiwanis has done for underprivileged children. All Kiwanians are urged to attend. Negro Drops Dead A.B. Brumfield, well-known colored man of Tryon dropped dead last night on the highway near the Erskine Rock bridge. He had served as waiter at Mimosa Inn and was on his way home. The body was found about 4 o’clock this morning. Burial at Gastonia Friday. Est. 1-31-28
