proposed celebration in 1934 of the
first English settlement in America on
Roanoke Island in 1584. He also
wants money to carry on this work
which will create world wide interest
in North Carolina and awaken our
own people to the State’s greatness.

drama. The ancient settlement will be
recreated with real Indians, primitive
tobacco fields, pumpkins, etc., the life
of the colony of that time. Member
