The Tryon Parent-Teacher asso
ciation met Monday afternoon at
the school auditorium to hear Dr.
G. F. Taylor give a delightful and
instructive talk on the idea; of the
difficult or problem child and
the home as a sieve. Dr. Taylor
stressed the point that the home
must act as a sieve or filter, letting
in only the things that you want
in. In other words the sieve or
filter is your common sense or
standards. At the close of the
address .the meeting was opened
for questions and discussions.
During the business session it
was announced that the P.-T. A.
had voted to pay S4O toward a
set of encyclopedia books which is
needed for the school library.
Also plans for a kitchen shower
for the new domestic science de
partment were announced. The
meeting adjourned to have tea in
the cafeteria with hostesses Mes
dames Stackhouse, Butler, Ed
wards and Taylor.
