Strange, a guest from Canada, stopping at Oak Hall, ‘and Frank W. Wardwell, a frequent * visitor to Tryon, have consented rto accept the invitation of Troop 3 of the Tryon Boy Scouts and show their colored moving pictures of California, th e Painted Desert and Yosemite, along with motor boat pictures taken on the Musko ka Lakes. Besides this, these friends of the Scouts have ordered several reels of wild animal life as an extra feature. Troop 3 in vites all Scouts and boys between the ages of 12 and 16 to the school building Friday night, February 22, at 8 o’clock to see these fine pictures. No admission charge, please consider this your invita tion, boys. Tourney Here Saturday Th e second of a series of handi cap golf tournaments will be held Saturday at the Tryon Country club when a large number of local golfers and visitors will try for the beautiful Kimberly cups which were donated for the event on February 9, but the tournament was postponed on account of weather. Register March Ist Mrs. Carlotta S. Norton, district manager of the National Re-em ployment office will be at the court house Friday, March Ist, to regis ter all persons unemployed and desiring work. Now is the time to fill out your application with the employment office. Only those who are regis tered on the new applciation form for 1935 will be considered for work, when new projects are started. You will be given this oppor tunity Friday of each week here after instead of Thursday. Homespun Cloth for P.-T. A. 7 3ridge Prize Among th e valuable prizes to be drawn at the P.-T. A. Card-Ganie party Friday night at the Parish House will be some Homespun cloth for a ladies’ suit, donated by Fred L. Seely of the Biltmore In dustries. E. G. Vollmer will also give some spring flowers. A list of thirty prizes was published in yesterday’s Bulletin. 17 tables had been reserved early this morning. Fifty cents covers all expenses for the party, including loads of fun, refreshments and chances at one or more of the thirty prizes. Est. 1-31-23
