B. Cloud has in troduced a bill “to appoint addition al members of the board of com missioners for Polk county upon petition of a majority of the quali fied voters.” In his second bill, T. E. McKee, of Cooper’s Gap township, W. A. Whiteside, of Columbus township, and J. Broadus Middleton, of Sa luda township, would be named commissioners “provided such ap \ pointment shall be approved by Iduly verified petitions signed by a of the qualified voters” of Polk county, “the qualification of said voters to be determined by the registration and poll books, and other proper means.” Representative Coud’s first mea sure proposed the addition of Mr. Continued on Back Page Services Conducted For Mrs. Parrish, 75 Saluda, March s.—Mrs. Oscar Parrish, who, before her marriage, was Miss Martha Case, died at her home Monday morning at 6 o’clock. She was 75 years of age and is survived by one son, Ben. The funeral services were held Tuesday at the Friendship church with burial in the church cemetery. —Asheville Citizen. Musical Director of WWNC Here Sat. Wm. H. Zimmerman, Jr., musi cal director of Radio Station WWNC, Asheville, will be the ac companist for Rita Rozada Bement on Saturday evening in Tryon at the Parish House. Mr. Zimmer man is a pupil of, and assistant to Mrs. Robert S. Carroll, interna tionally famous pianist, who is now residing in Asheville. Mr. Zimmerman writes: “This will be my first engagement in Tryon. I am quite thrilled about it because I feel that I will have the most intelligent audience that I have ever Appeared before. Please tell the one who acts as critic to be frank in criticism of my part on the program, because we can only grow when we are intelligent ly criticised.” Sport News Coach J. V. Hall of the Tryon Business Men’s basketball team regrets the delay in starting the games last night, but states that the'games with Inman tonight promises to give plenty of speed and real basketball playing. The business men are giving their time free to help pay flor the gymna sium. Every extra admission helps the gymnasium just that much.
