McComb, Miss., April 7.—Thir ty-four persons today were report ed dead and more than 100 injured in the wake of tornadoes which swept over Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Alabama and Florida yes terday afternoon and last night. The tornado took its heaviest toll in this section of Mississippi with 12 reported dead at Gloster, six at Gillsburg and three on a planta tion near Woodville, Miss. Rescue crews searched for the bodies of 10 persons believed drowned when winds overturned their houseboat at a logging camp six miles south of Lake Providence, La. Three others died in scatter ed sections of Louisiana and Tex as. —Spartanburg Herald. Miss Loomis of Chicago, Dr. Harriet Day-Chandler and Miss Edna Day of Decatur, 111., and Miss Aileen Day of Moweaqua, were week-end guests of Miss Frances Hudson while on a motor trip.
