In City Tonight
Prominent Churchman Will
Be Heard Tonight At
Church of Advent.
The Rt. Rev. Frank H. Touret,
D. D.., will be the special Lenten
speaker tonight at 8 o’clock at the
Church of the Advent.
Bishop Touret is one of the dis
tinguished leaders of the Episcopal
Church in missionary work. His
distinction as a leader is empha
sized by the fact that some years
rlago he was elected by the general
of that church, repre
senting the whole communion in
the United States, to be bishop of
the great missionary territory of
Idaho. With a handful of clergy
he made a noflble effort to minister
to the people tof that immerise
territory, sparsely settled and
marked by rugged mountains and
great stretches of arid wastes,
which separate the scattered settle
ments from each other. Though
steep mountain passes and over
treeless plains Bishop Toturet
pushed his way until his health
gave way under the strain, and he
was forced to resign.
Since that time, in seeking the
restoration of his health, Bishop
Touret hlas become a member of
the Tryon winter colony. His
efforts for the restoration of his
.health have been so far successful
Hthat he is now in great demand as
■a speaker, and the rector of the
Church of the Advent, the Rev.
W. H. K. Pendleton, states that
he has experienced great difficulty
in securing an appointment from

Bishop Touret will preach in
Holy Cross, Tryon, on both next
Sunday morning and Good Friday.
