C., WEDNESDAY, APRIL 17, 1935 Annual Horse Show Is Tryon’s Largest Tryon’s biggest Horse and Hound Show opened this morning with beautiful weather for the (occasion. Over 90 horses have been entered in the events and an ertra class has been added for the five gaited stallions. This is the larg est number of horses ever entered in the show and the morning at tendance is surpassing that of previous years. The Hou».nd Show is very good. Immediately follow ing the show the exhibitors will be entertained by members of the Riding and Hunt Club. On Thurs day motrning the club will stage a hunt anid breakfast for the visi tors. The hounds will leave the Galax Stables at 10 a. m. The hunt will be laid along the ridge road and 1 those desiring to see the hunt can do so from their automo biles. Finals Program Announced For Saluda School Saluda, April 15.—Herbert Ran dolph, principal, has announced the program for the commencement ex ercises of the Saluda school. The program follows: Baccalaureate sermon, Sunday morning, April 28, at 11 o’clock, in ■the high school auditorium, by the Rev. Herman F. Duncan of Black Mountain. All local churches' will join in the service. Class day exercises, Monday eve ning, April 29, at 8 o’clock: literary Continued on Back Page Liquidation Os Bank At Tryon Is Completed Raleigh, April 16.—Gurney P. Hood, State bank commissioner, to day reported completion of the liquidation of the First Bank and Trust company of Tryon, which closed in November, 1930. Depositors got $76,325.25 in divi dends, or 58.208 per cent of their money, and those who made offsets gio't credit for $19,054 84, or 100 per cent of their funds. The bank closed with listed assets of $280,406.72 on which $137,114.05 was realized. Preferred claims of $15,305.75 and secured claims of $15,103.33 were paid in full. The net cost of the liquidation was $2,578.08. Pageant Will Be Given Friday Night at Saluda Saluda, April 16. “America, Yesterday and Today,” a pageant, will be presented Friday night at 8 o’clock in the high school gym nasium here by the primary and grammar grades of the Saluda school, assisted by a few members of the high school classes.
