C., MONDAY, APRIL 22, 1935 Tryon Winners At The Greenville Horse Show ) S. A. Bingham and daughter, Miss Ann Bingham, won rhe trophy for the parent and child class in the Greenvilie (IS. C.) Horse Show on Saturday after noon. They rode their gray horses, Kildare and Blue Belle. The show was called 1 off Saturday evening on account of rain. Spartanburg Gardens The Spartanburg Garden clubs will conduct a tour on Tuesday, April 23, for the benefit of the pre tuberculosis children. Admission 50 cents. The tour will last from 10 a. m., to 7 p. m. and will take in the gardens of Mesdames R. W. Dodgen, Sloan Crawford, John Cart, Walter Montgomery, L. C. x Dodge, J. L. VonGlahn, Henry j ßlackford, L. J. Blake, Arthur Ligon, Walter Allen, Ben Mont gomery, H. Mi. Cleveland, H. F. Chrietzberg, Chas. E. Band, Harry Leonard, Clifford Hayes, Howard Chapman and Mr. John Cantrell, also Converse college. Money for Baseball Secretary J. M. Early of the Tryon Baseball club says the league games will begin soon, and that more money is needed for equipment. Anyone caring to donate something can leave the mo<ney with the Treasurer J. B. Hester at the bank or send it to Secretary J. M. Early. Buy a sea son ticket now and that will help. Commencement At Columbus The baccalaureate sermon of Stearns high school was preached Sunday evening at the Columbus Baptist church by the Rev. Chas. B. Trammel, pastor. Class Day exercises will be held tonight and the final program will be given Thursday evening with an address by Dr. E. B. Jenkins, noted lec turer and world traveler. Flower Show On Saturday Tryon flower lovers who remem ber the beautiful flower show last year at the Parish House are look ing forward to an even more suc cessful affair this coming Satur day at the Parish House. Miss M. E. Young is chairman again this year. Stolen Goods Are Recovered Some clothing stolen from Rec tor’s during the week-end were re covered this morning when they were found wrapped in a rug in in some bushes near the rail road track. Officers are still work ing on the case. Kiwanis Tuesday The Tryon Kiwanis club will meet Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Edge wood Inn. Est. 1-31-28
