C., TUESDAY, APRIL 23, 1935 Try on Flower Show Saturday From 2 to 6 (Spartanburg Herald) \ The Garden club of Tryon will ' give its second annual public flower show in the Parish House on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 6 p. m. A small admission will be charged. The public is cordial ly invited. All exhibits must be in place by 11 o’clotek on Saturday morning and a card containing the name of the exhibitor must accompany each exhibit and attached thereto. Only one exhibit may be entered in any one class. As many class es as desired may be entered. A cash prize will be given in each of the two school exhibits. Other awards will be three ribbons in each class. Seven classes are open the others limited to club members only. The program follows: Class 1. Iris in pottery contain \ ers (open class) Mrs. Fred S. ) Ford. 7 Class 2. Blue flowers in white containers, yellow background (club members only), Mrs. Julian Calhoun. Class 3. Individual blossoms (qne flower or one spray), (open class), Mrs. F. J. McDonald. Class 4. Arrangement—Pansies predominating. Other flowers per mitted. (Club members only), Miss Stearns. Class 5. Arrangement of leaves in any container. (Club members only), Mrs. R. B. Peattie. Class 6. Miniature gardens. (Open class.) Class 7. Flowers in shades of yellow and orange in copper con ——Continued on Page Two Missildine for Mayor Mayor E. E. Missildine an nounced for re-election in Mon day’s Tryon Daily Bulletin. This is the first announcement from the Town Fathers. No statement has been received from Commissioners R. S. Jackson, F. P. Bacon and Marshall Ballew who now repre sent the Town on the Board of Commissioners. Candidates have Only about one week left in which to file as the election will be held on May 7. Register Saturday Registrar B. E. Samples states that Saturday is the last day for new voters to register. Anyone desiring to register may do so any time between now and Sat urday by coming to his place of residence. All persons who have become 21 years of age since the last election who have moved into the Town limits from elsewhere should register for the coming Town and School Board election. Piano Recital i The piano recital of Miss Cora L‘ipcomb’s pupils given Mbnday evening at the Parish House was a very delightful affair and was enjdyed by a large audience. The brilliant playing of Ernest and Miles Mauney of Kings Mountain was marvelous for boys just ten years old. (They captivated the audience which applauded con tinuously. Est. 1-31-28
