Donkey Baseball
Baseball on trained donkeys will
be a feature in Tryon Tuesday
night at Harmon Field. This new
fad has made a big hit in Ashe
ville and Hendersonville and fur
nishes a lot of wholesome enter
tainment that keeps the fans in
an uproar.
Kiwanis At Lake
The Tryon Kiwanis dub will
meet Tuesday at 1 p. m. at Lake
Lanier Inn. J. E. Brownlee has
charge of the program and the
Rev. L. R. Akers, Jr., will speak.
W. E. Kilpin will give the current
events.
Tryon Wins !
Tryon’s baseball team defeated
Hazlewood Saturday 10-3 at Hazle
wood. Foster and Capps formed
the local battery.
Drama Fortnightly
Chairman Frank D. Moore re
quests all people who have taken
part in Drama Fortnightly plays

on Wednesday evening at 8 o’clock
for a discussion of possible plans
for the future.
The Mollie Morris Circle of the
Methodist church has postponed its
meeting until May 22.

Dr. D. W. Daniel of Clemson
college, recognized as the most
popular man in South Carolina,
will deliver the commencement ad
dress tonight. Dr. Daniel is a
noted chautaugua speaker as well
as an outstanding educator. The

Mrs. Hugh Murrill of Tryon and
Mir. Jefferson Steiner of Birming
ham, Ala., were married Sunday
evening in Spatanburg. They will
make their home here until some
time in June.
Kirk Jones Dead
News has reached Tryon of the
death last night of Kirk Jones of
Saluda, son of Mr. and Mrs. U. G.
Jones. Mr. Jones worked in a
garage at Flat Rock and it is said
that his car turned over between
Saluda aind Flat Rock.
