MEET AT > BURNSVILLE The Eighteenth Judicial District Bar will hold its third annual meeting on Saturday, June 8, at Burnsville, N. C., according to an announcement by J. S. Massenburg, secretary of Try on, N. C. On the Urogram are a number of well known attorneys from this section. Associate Justice Willis J. Brogden of the State Supreme Cburt will deliver the chief address. The program as detailed is as fallows: Morning Session, 11 O’clock 11:00 Address of Welcome, Charles Hutchins, of the Burnsville Bar. 11:10—Response, J. Lee Laven dar, of the Columbus Bar. \ 11:15—President’s Address, W. Mcßorie, of the Rutherfordton 'Bar. Subject: “Same Recollections of the Bar of the Eighteenth Judicial District.” 11:35 lntroduction of Guest Speaker, by I. Curtis Arledge, of the Hendersonville Bar. 11:40—Address, Hon. Willis J. Broaden, Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of North Carolina. Subject: “The Supreme Court, a Mirror of the Life of the State.” 12:30—Luncheon, at the Nu- Wray Hotel. Host: The Burnsville Bar. Rid \ ings, Solicitor of the Eighteenth Continued on Back Page 3 Highwaymen Who Held Up Driver In Greenville Arrested Three young men, Clyde Cole, 20, of Washington and Baltimore, said to be the leader, and Melton Keenum and Oscar Roberts of Georgia went into a taxicab office in Greenville Monday and ordered a taxi. When about six miles out of Greenville they held the driver up with a toy pistol and put him out of the yellow cab; then they drove off. They passed through Polk county about 5 o’clock Tues day mox-ning. Rutherford officers co-operatting with Polk county sheriff and deputies found the highwaymen about 10 a. m. in Rutherford county where they were stalled trying to start the cab which had its gears stripped. The men were brought to Columbus jiail and pled guilty. Said it was their first offense. Greenville county officers and a> mechanic came for them Tuesday night.
