C., SATURDAY, JUNE 8, 1935 Est. 1-31-28 Allen Jervey Is Lake Life Guard Lake Lanier and Lake Lanier Inn which opened recently for the summer season is becoming in tieasingly attractive each day as quests and visitors flock to Tryon’s waterfront for swimming, boating, luncheons, tea parties, bridge par ties and ether forms of entertain ment and recreation. The Kiwanis and Rotary clubs have been using the Inn for their luncheons. Swim ming is enjoyed from the lake dock in flront of the Inn and Allen Jer vey, one of Tryon’s best swimmers is the life guard in charge of 1 the safety of swimmers at the dock. A diving to>wer, boat house and pavilion are near the dock. Danc ing is enjoyed in the Inn dining rooms. Boy Scout Leaders Conference Opens Piedmont Boy Scout Lead- T «’ Training school will open this evening at the Scout Council camp on Lake Lanier with Judge Bis mark Capps of Gastonia in charge. Approximately 10 0 Scoutmasters and other officials are expected to attend the two-day conference. Supper will be served tonight at 6 o’clock. A campfire program will be held from 8 td 9*30 toright at which time Judge Capps, Scout Executive R. M. Schiele, Indian Chief Blue Sky Eagle will be the chief speakers.
