C., SATURDAY, JUNE 29, 1935 Est. 1-31-28 Boys Recreation Club Will Be Formed Monday The Boys Recreation Club will be organized on this coming Mon day morning, July Ist. All boys who turn up will be founders of what m?jy become a very important item in Ttryon summer life. Boys over ten years of age are welcome and will meet with Dr. Taylor and his helpers at the Tryon school building. All pastors are asked to announce the opening of this dub. Outstanding boys will be chosen as volunteer consellors and leaders. It is planned to recognize the finest all around club member at the end of the season by the gift of a cup. Besides games, soft ball, voOey ball, and others, there will be a handcraft work with "Nsloyd knives and the making of and overseas caps and those “naving talent will be encouraged to create their own designs and whittle them out. Hiking on Fri days, taking lunch and cooking it, will be open to all regular atten dants at the club. This club is intended to be the creation of the boys themselves and all boys who are interested in planning a sum mer full of fun with a chance at cratft work and leadership are in vited to join. Parents and boys wishing fuller information may call on Dr. Taylor personally to night at Mr. F. J. McDonald’s home, or get him by telephone. Monday at 9:45 a. m., will be the opening time when founders of the club will be registered and the first session held. j l\i iljc (Eljitrcljes j FIRST BAPTIST—IO a- m. Father Florian, cele brant. METHODIST—IO a. m., church school. 6:15 p. m., Epworth League. 8:00 p. m., evening worship. Sub ject, “The Modern Judas.” Rev. L. R. Akers, Jr., pastor. PRESBYTERIAN Sunday school 9:45 a. m. Chi’istian Endeav or, 6:00 p. m., Miss Polly Nance, leader. Columbus. Rev. W. T. Smith concludes the revival meet nig with morning and evening service. Dance on Fourth A Fourth of July Dance will bo held Thursday evening at Lake Lanier Inn. Fielding CpntreH’s orchestra, will furnish the music. Prize Dog Killed Prince, the beautiful white dog owned by Mr. and Mrs. George A. Cathey, was run over by a train early today and its hind legs were cut off. It had to be shot to re lieve it of suffering. Prince had taken first prize in a number of dog shows at Tryon and Asheville.
