C., TUESDAY, JULY 0, 1035 Est. 1-31-28 Mrs. Harriet Edwards Landrum, July 8. —Mrs. Harriett Ross Edwards, GO, wife of Thomas D. Edwards, ors near Landrum, died this morning at a Rutherfordton N. C., hospital. She had been in declining health /for some time but was seriously ill only a short while. Mrs. Edwards was born and reared in Greenville county, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wade Howard. Funeral services were held to day at 3 p. m., at the Landrum Wesleyan church, conducted by the Rev. Mr. Gudd, the Rev. J. B. Con nelly and the Rev. James Howard. Interment followed in the Landrum cemetery. Pallberers will be C. C. Settle, J. C. Brown, J. G. Landrum, J. J. Brady, I. C., and B. S. Morrow. Mrs. Edwards was twice mar ried, her first marriage being to Joseph Ross, who died about 20 years ago. Besides her husband, she is sur vived by one brother, Jackson How ard, Tygeirville section, and the fol lowing step-children: Fletcher Ed wards, Alfred Edwards, David Ed wards, Mrs. Cora Bolling, Mrs. Mary Harmon, Mrs. Lizzie Brady, Mrs. Elsie Smith, Mrs. Lila. Scouts Tonight The Tryon Boy Scouts will meet tonight at 7:30 at the Tryon school gymnasium for their regular meet ing according to an announcement by Scoutmaster W. A. Schilletter. GOLF THURSDAY The Morganton golf team will come to Tryon on Thursday after noon to play the Tryon team in the Piedmont Golf League. Thos ■» making up the Tryon team are B. B. Bishop Jr., and Earl Rion, Nelson Jackson, Jr., and C. N. Sayre, R. T. Brooks and F. P. Bacon, Leland Hilton and Edward Sayre. MOVING TIME R. H. Walker and family have moved to the W. M. Smith house in Columbus. P. S. White has bought the Wiley Bridges house, formerly occupied by R. H. Wal ker and has moved his family there, and Rev. Charles B. Tram mel has moved to the P. S. White house. Theatre Dance On Wednesday Try on’s Theatre will celebrate its second anniversary on Wednesday evening with a big dance at the Tryon gymnasium. Jimmy Liv ingston’s 12-piece orchestra will furnish the music. During the in termission an interesting home talent floor show will be present ed, said Manager C. W. Nessmith today. Tryon Kiwamans today started making plans to hold an Apple Show in Trvon this fall.
